What Time Are We Eating?
As a twenty four year old, I still ask what time the meal is going to be served, so I can only imagine how much of an eternity it seems for the little ones! This Thanksgiving, give them something to do that’s away from the cooking, hot pots and pans & your beautifully decorated table scape.
Have your kids make Thanksgiving Necklaces with dyed uncooked pasta! You can even prepare the pasta a few weeks in advance…
What You Need:
Uncooked pasta, assorted shapes
Food coloring
Ziploc bags
Rubbing alcohol
Wax paper
Sturdy string
Scissors
What You Need To Do:
With uncooked pasta already in the ziploc bag, pour the rubbing alcohol over the pasta, coating each piece.
Drop several drops of the food coloring to coat each piece. Repeat for every color that you want to use.
Once you have your desired color, drain the liquid and pour uncooked pasta onto a sheet of wax paper to dry. (do not rinse)
Cut the string long enough for the kids to handle and also long enough so they can take it off easily.
Thread dyed, uncooked pasta onto the string in any design that you want!
This will entertain the kids at your Thanksgiving table so the adults can do the dirty work!
